Add a Device Attribute to a Managed Device

Single Device
To add a device attribute directly to a single managed device follow the steps below.
- Log in to Netreo as a user with the at least the Administrator access level.
- Locate the managed device to which you would like to add a device attribute and open its Device Dashboard.
- Select the gear icon at the top right of the Device Dashboard to switch to the administrative view.
- Select the Attributes tab.
- In the Attributes table:
- If there are no empty attribute rows in the table, select the add icon (+) to add a new row.
- In the NAME column enter a name for your attribute.
- In the VALUE column enter the value for that attribute.
- Select Apply Changes.
The device attribute is now available on the device for use.
If using device attributes in auto-configuration rules, you may need to initiate a discovery poll for the device.
Multiple Devices
To add one or more device attributes to multiple managed devices follow the steps below.
- Log in to Netreo as a user with the at least the Administrator access level.
- From the main menu select Administration > Change Devices > Edit/Add Device Attributes to open the Device Attributes page.
- Select the functional group that contains the managed devices to which you would like to add a device attribute.
- In the table that appears, place a checkmark next to the names of the desired devices to select them. (You may use the search box to filter the devices displayed in the table.)
- In the Attributes table:
- In the text box in the NAME column enter a name for the device attribute.
- In the text box in the VALUE column enter a value for the device attribute.
- If you would like to add more device attributes, select the plus (+) button to the right of the last added attribute to add a new row.
- Select Add Attribute to add the configured attributes to the selected devices.
The device attribute(s) are now available on the device for use.
If using device attributes in auto-configuration rules, you may need to initiate a discovery poll for the affected devices.
