Article summary

Only users with the SuperAdmin access level may deploy and manage service engines.

See Service Engines to learn about service engines and their use.

Service engine groups do not support traffic flow collector or log collector operations. Do not attempt to add a service engine with these functions to a service engine group.

Procedure

To add a service engine to a service engine group, follow the steps below.

  1. Log in to Netreo as a user with the SuperAdmin access level.
  2. Go to the main menu and select Administration > System > Service Engines to open the Service Engine Administration page.
  3. In the Service Engine Groups panel locate the service engine group to which you would like to add a service engine and select its edit icon in the ACTIONS column.
  4. On the edit page for the service engine group use the pulldown selector to select a stand alone service engine to add and select the plus (+) button to add it to the group. (Currently, only remote poller service engines not running any other services may be added to a service engine group.)
    • Any devices assigned to a service engine being added to a service engine group will automatically be assigned to that group.
  5. Repeat the previous step until all desired service engines are added to the group.
  6. Select Save.
  7. In the dialog that appears type “CONFIRM.”
  8. Select Save Configuration.
