Assign Devices to a Category

To assign managed devices to a category follow the steps below.

1. Log in to Netreo as a user with the SuperAdmin access level.
2. Go to the main menu and select Administration > Grouping > Category to open the Category Administration page.
3. Locate the category that you wish to edit in the Current Categories table.
4. Select the edit icon for that category in the ACTIONS column.
5. On the edit page select the Devices tab.
6. In the Select Devices to Add panel select a functional group to display the devices in that group.
   • None shows devices that belong to no functional groups.
   • Everything shows all devices monitored by Netreo.
7. Select the checkbox for each device to be added to the category.
   • Selected devices remain selected when searching or navigating the table (see Device Selection Dialog for more information).
8. Select Add To Category. The selected devices are reassigned to this category and appear in the Devices in Category panel.
9. Select more devices to assign or simply navigate away from the edit page when finished.

These steps are for assigning devices to a category manually from Category Administration. In general, you will want devices to be assigned to categories automatically when they are added for monitoring using auto-configuration rules.

Individual devices may also be assigned to a category manually from the administrative view of its Device Dashboard.
