Note for Netreo SaaS
When assigning a device to a service engine group managed in Netreo SaaS it takes approximately 30-40 minutes for the assignment to be recognized and for the service engine group to begin monitoring the device. This is particularly important if the newly assigned device has any alarms currently active for it. These alarms will remain active until the device is polled by the new service engine for the first time.
Procedure
To assign a device to a service engine group, follow the steps below.
- Log in to Netreo as a user with the SuperAdmin access level.
- Go to the main menu and select Administration > System > Service Engines to open the Service Engine Administration page.
- In the Service Engine Groups panel select Assign Devices to Service Engine Groups.
- On the Assign Devices to Service Engine Groups page use the pull-down selector to select a functional group that contains the devices that you wish to add to the service engine group.
- In the device selection table that appears place a checkmark next to the devices that you wish to add.
- Use the pull-down selector below the table to select the service engine group to which these devices should be added.
- Select Assign Selected Device(s) to the Service Engine Group selected above.
- A message appears to indicate that those devices have been assigned.
Netreo will now task that service engine group with collecting and processing data for the selected devices.
Remember to configure any devices on your network that normally push their associated data to Netreo (traffic flow and logs) to push it to the IP of the service engine.
