Article summary

Netreo is capable of monitoring performance metrics from several types of cloud services and SDWAN networks.

For cloud services, each supported service is added to Netreo as a managed device. For SDWAN networks, each controller is added to Netreo as a managed device.

Only users with the SuperAdmin access level may add and manage cloud services and SDWAN networks.

To open the Cloud Monitoring Administration page go to the main menu and select Administration > Modules > Cloud Monitoring.

Currently, Netreo supports the following cloud services and SDWAN network types:

Cloud Services

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing Service

SDWAN Networks

  • Cisco Meraki
  • flexiWAN
  • Silver Peak Aruba

Cloud Services

Amazon Web Services

Netreo supports monitoring of the following AWS resources:

Microsoft Azure

Netreo supports monitoring of the following Azure resources:

To add an Azure application to Netreo for monitoring, see Monitor Azure Cloud VMs and Services.

Netreo can collect the following metrics from virtual machines running on Azure:

  • Percentage CPU
  • Network In
  • Network Out
  • Disk Read Bytes
  • Disk Write Bytes
  • Disk Read Operations/Sec
  • Disk Write Operations/Sec
  • CPU Credits Remaining

See Microsoft's Azure documentation for more information on these statistics.

SDWAN Network Services

Cisco Meraki

Netreo supports monitoring of the following Meraki resources:

If you use Cisco Meraki to manage any of your network infrastructure, you can add your Meraki organizations to Netreo for monitoring.

To add a Cisco Meraki organization to Netreo for monitoring, see Add a Cisco Meraki Organization to Netreo.

Currently, Netreo supports the addition of only a single Cisco Meraki organization for monitoring.

API Call Specifics

Netreo communicates with the Meraki cloud API approximately every 5 minutes and makes the following calls:

  • A discovery call to learn new devices and update existing devices (1 call per 1k devices)
  • A device status call to determine overall (up/down) status (1 call per 1k devices)
  • A network call to retrieve network details, like ID (1 call per organization)
  • A bulk uplink call to retrieve WAN uplink status (1 call per organization)

If any access points are being managed, additional calls to retrieve the following performance metrics (4 calls per device):

  • Client count
  • Latency
  • Data rate
  • Connection statistics

Note: The API call figures above do not include any additional service checks configured by the user (such as Meraki WAN Status (Service Check) or Meraki Device Status (Service Check)). Any user-configured service checks can be estimated to make 1 call for each service check approximately every 5 minutes.

flexiWAN

Netreo supports monitoring of the following flexiWAN resources:

Silver Peak

Netreo supports monitoring of the following Silver Peak resources:
