Create a Category

To create a new category device group follow the steps below.

1. Log in to Netreo as a user with the SuperAdmin access level.
2. Go to the main menu and select Administration > Grouping > Category to open the Category Administration page.
3. Select Create New Category.
4. Enter a name your new category.
   • It’s recommended that the name you choose not be longer than approximately 16 characters.
5. Select the device class that you want the category to contain.
6. (Optional) Select a device template  to associate with this category.
   • You can add or change the device template associated with this category later, if desired.
7. Select Create Category.

Modify a Category

Once a category is created, you may then:

• assign devices to the category
• assign a device template to the category
• assign a custom dashboard to the category
• view the Category Dashboard
• edit the category
• delete the category

by selecting the appropriate icon in its row in the table.
