Only users with the SuperAdmin access level may deploy and manage service engines.
See Service Engines to learn about service engines and their use.
Traffic flow and log collection
Service engine groups do not support traffic flow collector or log collector operations. Do not attempt to add a service engine with these functions to a service engine group.
Procedure
To create a new service engine group, follow the steps below.
- Log in to Netreo as a user with the SuperAdmin access level.
- Go to the main menu and select Administration > System > Service Engines to open the Service Engine Administration page.
- In the Service Engine Groups panel select the plus (+) button to create a new service engine group.
- On the edit page that appears enter a name for the group.
- Use the pulldown selector to select a stand alone service engine and select the plus (+) button to add it to the service engine group. (Currently, only remote poller service engines running no other services may be added to a service engine group.)
- Any devices assigned to a service engine being added to a service engine group will automatically be assigned to that group when the service engine is added.
- Repeat the previous step until all desired service engines are added to the group.
- Select Save.
- In the dialog that appears type “CONFIRM.”
- Select Save Configuration.
Your new service engine group now appears in the Service Engine Groups panel.
Your service engine group now also appears as a virtual device within Netreo that has a dashboard and may be monitored like any other managed device.
