Description

The Virtualization Dashboard is where users of any access level can view detailed information specific to an individual virtual resource (cluster or data store). It is the equivalent of the Device Dashboard—and serves the same purpose—but for virtual resources. Every managed virtual resource in Netreo gets its own Virtualization Dashboard.

Selecting the name of a virtual resource almost anywhere in Netreo typically takes you directly to its Virtualization Dashboard. Alternatively, you can search for the name of the desired resource using the search icon on the main menu, and then select its name in the results.

The Virtualization Dashboard is made up of several tabs, with each tab focused on specific aspects of the resource. The tabs and their contents are detailed below. If the virtual resource is currently experiencing any problems, the relevant tab where the problem can be viewed will be highlighted in the color of the most severe alarm state.

Overview Tab

The Overview tab displays a collection of what is generally considered to be the most immediately useful information about that virtual resource.

The Overview tab contains three panels of information (detailed below):

  • Monitoring check health
  • Storage memory utilization
  • Host info and health

Monitoring Check Health
In the top left are four indicators showing the current aggregate number of monitoring checks assigned to this device that are in the CRITICAL, WARNING, ACKNOWLEDGED and HEALTHY states. If any of these indicators have no checks in that state, they will show a faded 0. Below the check indicators is shown the cluster to which this data store belongs.

Memory Panel
This panel contains a bar graph visualizing used storage memory versus free storage memory. Selecting the graph navigates to a configurable report showing storage memory usage in bytes for the previous 24-hour period.

Inset to the right of the bar graph is a sub-panel showing used and free storage memory in both percent and bytes.

Hosts Panel
This panel contains a table of hosts connected to this data store along with statistics on read/write requests and device/kernel latency. The values shown are averages for the previous 15-minute period. If a threshold check has been added to a statistic to monitor for anomalies, the star icon next to the value displays the check's current state. If the icon is gray, anomaly detection has not been configured for that statistic (even though a threshold check may have been configured for it).

Select a host's name in the table to navigate to the Device Dashboard for that host.

Select the graph icon next to a host's name to view a list of report options for that host for the statistics listed in the table.
