Incident Criteria Administration

Article summary

Incident Criteria Administration is where the settings for incident management are configured. Only users with the SuperAdmin access level may configure these settings.

To navigate to the Incident Criteria Administration page go to the main menu and select Administration > Alerts > Incident Management.

On this page you will find a list of currently configured incident management rules, as well as controls for creating new rules, setting incident priorities, uploading and downloading rulesets and viewing a regular expression reference sheet that can help you build your own rules. The timer that controls the duration of the ALARMS CLEARED state for incidents is also located here.

Incident Management Rules Table

This table shows the current list of rules being used by incident management to evaluate alarms before they are permitted to open new incidents. Some useful custom rules are already included.

Rules are evaluated in the order in which they are listed.

Use the arrow buttons in the SET ORDER column to move rules up and down in the list. Edit a rule by selecting the "View Tree" icon in that rule's ACTIONS column.

To add a new rule to the table select Add Rule.

Incident management rules cannot be temporarily deactivated. If you no longer wish a rule to be evaluated, it must be deleted.

Cloud Library

For users of Netreo Overview, a compete set of incident management rules may be created in the Overview appliance, uploaded to its cloud library, and then pushed down to its client Netreo appliances.

To upload a complete ruleset from Overview select Upload to Cloud Library. Your ruleset will be immediately uploaded to your Overview Cloud Library.

Warning: There is no confirmation dialog when uploading to your Overview Cloud Library, so be sure it is what you want.

To download a complete ruleset from an Overview Cloud Library to an Overview client select Incident Criteria Cloud Library to navigate to the Incident Criteria Cloud Library page, choose the ruleset you would like to download and select its download icon in the ACTIONS column.

Warning: Be aware that rulesets downloaded and installed on a client Netreo appliance from your Overview Cloud Library will delete and replace all current incident management rules on that particular client.

Downloading Rulesets
Rulesets downloaded and installed from an Overview cloud library will delete all current incident management rules of the client that the ruleset is installed on.
