Article summary

The Netreo audit log collects messages about events and operations within Netreo. Most Netreo operations are recorded there.

To view the audit log, navigate to Administration >> System >> Audit Log from the main menu. You must be logged in to Netreo as a user with the SuperAdmin access level to view the audit log.

The audit log uses a filter very similar to the filter for other types of reports and allows searches using partial match search terms in any of the text entry fields. It is presented using HTML within Netreo but can be exported to either PDF or CSV format. Like most other reports, it can be scheduled and emailed or added as a section to a custom report.

The following options are available to filter the log:

  • DEVICE NAME - (Optional) Enter at least part of the name of the managed device on which you would like to filter the log.
  • USERNAME - (Optional) Enter at least part of the username of the Netreo user on which you would like to filter the log. This includes usernames that represent the system itself, such as "Netreo" and "OmniCenter."
  • LOCATION - (Optional) Enter at least part of the name of the location in Netreo where the operation takes place and on which you would like to filter the log. Try terms like "update," "log in," and "automated process."
  • MESSAGE - (Optional) Enter at least part of the log message on which you would like to filter the log.
  • TIMING OPTIONS - Quick Times allows you to select a convenient preset volume of time. Custom Times allows you to specify an exact start and end time. Your selection determines which of the fields below is displayed.
    • QUICK TIMES - Select the desired time volume preset.
    • START TIME - Manually enter the start date and time in the format provided, or click the calendar icon at the right to select the date and time.
    • END TIME - Manually enter the end date and time in the format provided, or click the calendar icon at the right to select the date and time.
  • DISPLAY LIMIT - Controls the maximum number of log entries displayed per page of entries. The default is 25.
  • DOES NOT MATCH - (Optional) Provides finer control of search results. Enter at least part of a term to use to filter out results that were included due to search term entries above. Filter works on all fields, including time.

The filter is hidden after you retrieve the audit log. Click the Filter button to show it again if you would like to change any of the filter options.
