Only users with the SuperAdmin access level may deploy and manage service engines.
See Service Engines to learn about service engines and their use.
Procedure
To remove a service engine from a service engine group, follow the steps below.
- Log in to Netreo as a user with the SuperAdmin access level.
- Go to the main menu and select Administration > System > Service Engines to open the Service Engine Administration page.
- In the Service Engine Groups panel locate the service engine group that contains the service engine you wish to remove and select its edit icon in the ACTIONS column.
- On the edit page that appears locate the service engine that you wish to remove and select its delete icon in the ACTIONS column.
- In the dialog that appears select either Make Stand Alone or Delete Permanently.
- Make Stand Alone - removes the service engine from the group and places it back into the Stand Alone Service Engines panel. There may be a delay of several minutes before this is reflected in the UI.
- Delete Permanently - removes the service engine from the group and deletes the actual service engine deployment (i.e., that service engine no longer exists).
Any devices currently assigned to a service engine when it is removed from a service engine group remain assigned to the group, and will be redistributed among the group. Because of this, it is not possible to remove the last service engine in a service engine group until any devices assigned to that group are re-assigned elsewhere (i.e., to other service engine groups or stand alone service engines).
