Description
The Web Application dashboard widget displays performance data for a specified WebART check or all checks simultaneously.
Display Mode
This widget has two display modes: wide and narrow. The narrow mode shows only the health icon, 24-hour graph, and average response time. The widget will automatically choose the correct mode based on the layout of the dashboard it is placed in. The following images show the wide and narrow display modes, respectively.
Components
This widget consists of multiple panels displaying various breakdowns of performance data.
Application Response Time Graph
This graph shows response times in seconds over the previous 12 hours for each synthetic check in this WebART check. If a service engine is used as the location, response times are from the selected service engine to the target and back. This measurement excludes the time from Netreo to the service engine, ensuring the most accurate measurement possible. This table can be exported or printed using the export menu icon at the upper-right.
Synthetic Checks Table
This table shows 15-minute, 1-hour and 24-hour average load times for each synthetic step in the WebART check. Total time is the sum of all synthetic step values. Clicking on a value in the table will open the respective synthetic step in a graph on its own separate page, along with filtering options to change the time range. Click the icon next to the panel title to open a larger version of the Application Response Time graph above, also along with various filtering options for time and display.
Breakdown Pie Chart
A pie chart of application response times for each synthetic check in this WebART check. Click a synthetic check in the legend to include or remove it from the chart display. Mouse over the chart slices for response time in seconds.
Application Status Icon
A simple icon representing the overall health of this check.
Average Response Time Display
This panel provides a large display of the average response time for the application for the last 24 hours.
Associated Business Workflows
The stacked panels at the bottom right provide mini Tactical Overviews for any business workflows associated with this WebART check. This allows a user to look for correlations between problems with the check and device issues. The icon next to the business workflow name navigates to the strategic group dashboard for that group.
Configuration
Web Application widgets are added to a dashboard on the Customize Dashboards page (Administration > Users > Custom Dashboards).
Multiple widgets of this type may be added to a dashboard, each with its own configuration.
When adding a Web Application widget to a dashboard, several options need to be configured before the widget can be used. After adding the widget to a dashboard, save the dashboard and then click the gear icon on the widget to open the options pop-up dialog.
The fields and their descriptions are outlined below.
- SELECT APPLICATION
Select the WebART check to be displayed by this widget. Selecting the option "All Applications" displays performance data for all WebART checks. The widget will change its display to accommodate the list of checks, as illustrated below.
Multiple Application Display Mode
All of the example images above show the widget configured for a single application. If a Web Application widget is configured to show multiple applications, it will display as shown below.
After adding the widget and saving your options, remember to save the dashboard for its display to be updated.
