"Managed device" is the term used to refer to any single, logical entity or operating system (such as a single switch or “stack” of switches managed as a single entity, VM host, VM guest, cloud resource, etc.) that has been added to Netreo for monitoring. The term includes virtual and cloud-based resources, as well as physical network devices.
Each managed device in Netreo has an associated Device Dashboard. This dashboard allows users of any access level to view detailed information about the status and history of that managed device. In locations throughout the Netreo user interface where managed devices are listed, the names of managed devices are typically hyperlinks that open the Device Dashboard for that device when selected.
Each managed device also has an associated Device Administration page. This page allows certain users (typically administrators) to configure Netreo-specific settings for that managed device.
Managed devices also make up the basic unit of licensing Netreo. Your Netreo deployment is allotted a certain number of device licenses based on your deployment package type. When devices or resources are added to Netreo for monitoring, they become “managed devices” and consume licenses in this device license allotment. Managed devices that are disabled in Netreo do not consume device licenses.
